Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions
Receive and process written prescriptions from customers
Retrieve filled prescriptions and ring up customer orders
Process payments, including cash, checks, and credit/debit transactions
Update patient records and enter prescription data into pharmacy system
Order, receive, tag, and stock prescription drugs and supplies
Stock over-the-counter medications according to merchandising plans
Answer phones and provide prompt customer service at pharmacy counter
Prepare third-party insurance claims as allowed by state law
Follow safety and security procedures for hazardous waste and confidential materials
